MS LISETTE MARIA

BEL AIR

My name is Lisette Maria, born in St Louis but now deeply connected to the people and community of Bel Air. I’ve lived a life shaped by personal struggles, which have taught me the values of strength, kindness, and resilience. These values now guide my mission in public service. For many years, I’ve worked closely with children and families—through early childhood education, parenting workshops, and community support. Helping young people grow, feel heard, and build confidence is something I do not just as a job, but from the heart. I believe Bel Air deserves a leader who listens with empathy, acts with compassion, and always puts people first. My vision is for a stronger, more supportive district—where children are nurtured, families feel empowered, and no one is left behind. I am ready to bring that kind of leadership to Bel Air.

MS ALISON TODISOA

ANSE ETOILE

As a new candidate standing for election in my district, my plan focuses on listening to the people, solving real issues and bringing long term solutions. There are so many people with potential that try to voice out, but they are not being heard, so I want to be their voice and stand for a positive change in my district.

My experiences before I join Lalyans Nouvo Sesel, I was a Court Interpreter for 12 years and 1  year in the Curator office, and practice A Level Law and step down to be a Journalist With Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation, it’s a mix in everything as I am a jack of all trades, like Sneaking in and learn new skills, a friendly and very charismatic lady, with a passion for people. My family is my top priority. I am fun to hang out with and love animals. I have experienced pain, struggles and happy moments but at the end of the day, a life filled with so many things to cherish was all I needed. I am a young articulate lady with a purpose and I’m a fighter.

MS BERNADETTE AGNES

BAIE LAZARE

One day, Bernadette had an idea to organize a community event that would bring together the fishermen, farmers, and youth of Baie Lazare. She envisioned a festival that would celebrate the community’s rich heritage and showcase their products. With the help of her friends and family, Bernadette organized the “Baie Lazare Festival,” which featured traditional music, dance, and food. The fishermen displayed their fresh catch, while the farmers showcased their fruits and vegetables. The youth participated in various activities, including a beach clean-up and a sustainable living workshop. The festival was a huge success, attracting visitors from all over Seychelles. Bernadette’s initiative brought the community together and highlighted the importance of preserving their natural resources. From that day on, Bernadette became known as a leader in her community, inspiring others to work towards a sustainable future for Baie Lazare. Bernadette Agnes was a young woman living in Baie Lazare, surrounded by the beautiful beaches and lush green hills of Seychelles. She grew up watching the fishermen set sail early in the morning, their boats disappearing into the horizon as they searched for the day’s catch. As a child, Bernadette loved listening to her grandfather’s stories about the sea and the Fishermen who braved its waves. Her grandfather, a retired fisherman himself, would tell tales of the giant sailfish and the shimmering scales of the fresh catch. As she grew older, Bernadette became involved in the local community, working with the youth to promote sustainable fishing practices and support local farmers. She believed that by working together, the community could preserve the natural beauty of Baie Lazare while also improving their livelihoods. One day, Bernadette had an idea to organize a community event that would bring together the fishermen, farmers, and youth…

MS JOANNA POUPONNEAU

BEAU VALLON

Joanna Teresa Amirah Pouponneau stands as a compelling choice for the Member of the National Assembly (MNA) for Beau Vallon for several key reasons, deeply rooted in her proven track record, unique background, and unwavering commitment to the community. She offers a blend of hands-on experience, a clear vision, and an authentic connection that makes her a powerful advocate for the district.

why Joanna Pouponneau should be elected and what she will bring to Beau Vallon:

Why Joanna Pouponneau Should Be Elected:

Proven Track Record of Action & Compassion: Joanna is not new to community service. Her decision to leave a secure civil service career (including her role as HANSARD Principal Parliamentary Reporter Manager at the National Assembly) to become a full-time volunteer demonstrates a profound, selfless dedication. Most notably, her proactive leadership during and after the devastating 7th December flooding disaster in the North Region showcased her ability to mobilize, organize, and directly assist those in distress. For the residents of Beau Vallon, many of whom were directly impacted or know those who were, this hands-on response is a powerful testament to her commitment. She embodied the “Fight for Hope” when it was most needed.

MR JOSEPH LARUE

Background Before Joining Lalyans Nouvo Sesel (LNS)

I began my education at Baie Lazare Primary School, later sitting for my national exams and gaining admission to Seychelles College. After completing my studies there, I joined the National Youth Service (NYS) and continued with one year at the Seychelles Polytechnic, laying the foundation for my professional career.

My first job was as a Customs Officer, a role that gave me firsthand experience in national operations and public service. However, it was a visit to England that truly changed the course of my life, introducing me to the world of crafts, heritage, and museum culture. Inspired by what I saw, I returned to Seychelles with a vision to fuse culture and creativity.

This led me to launch a number of museum souvenir initiatives, focusing on celebrating and preserving Seychellois heritage through locally made art and crafts. In 2014, I founded a museum gallery in Baie Lazare, which I managed and curated. It became a creative and cultural space dedicated to connecting people with their roots.

My deep passion for heritage, national identity, and community empowerment eventually led me into the political space. Before joining Lalyans Nouvo Sesel (LNS), I had already committed myself to national service in various forms—through education, public service, and cultural preservation.
